New Delhi: Indian soldiers stand firm to fight any efforts to unilaterally change the status quo along the border of the state and India’s desire for peace born from strength and should not be wrong instead, said the head of the MM Naravane army on Friday.
The head of the army also said that differences in perceptions and disputes are most resolved through norms set based on the same and mutual security principles.
Indian and Chinese soldiers were locked in military deadlock in East Ladakh since May 5, 2020, after clashes of violence erupted in the area of Lake Pangong.
The two countries have carried out 14 military level talks to complete the deadlock.
“We stand firm to fight all efforts to unilaterally change the status quo along our borders.
Our response to these efforts has been quickly, calibrated and firm as seen when the situation was once asked,” Naravane said in his speech at night.
Day.
Naravane said the army had institutionalized additional protection to prevent further efforts on military brinkmanship.
“We believe that differences in perceptions and disputes are best resolved through norms determined based on the same and mutual security principles,” he said.
“Our desire for peace and tranquility is born of our innate power.
It should not be wrong,” he added.
The institutional mechanism and protection for fighting state-sponsored terrorism has been strengthened both along the border and inland, Naravane mentioned.
This mechanism and protection has proven effective in reducing levels of violence, he said.
“Our actions have demonstrated our abilities and willingness to attack sources of terrorism,” said the head of the army.
In the year passed, Indian soldiers had firmly executed their responsibilities and steadfast in maintaining the security and integrity of the territorial nation, he said.
The Indian active border is guarded with determination and resilience, he said.
“Our brave officers, JCOS (junior officers assigned), and soldiers, have faced enemies and difficulties with courage and fortitude even as far as they put their lives in the highest tradition of Indian soldiers,” Naravane said.
Indian soldiers remain high operational readiness to face sustainable challenges and in the future, he said.
After clashes of violence on May 5, 2020, both – the Indian and Chinese military – gradually enhancing their placement by rushing on tens of thousands of soldiers and heavy weapons.
As a result of a series of military and diplomatic talks, both parties completed the release process last year on the north and South Bank of Lake Pangong and in the gorry area.
Each side currently has around 50,000 to 60,000 troops along the actual control line (LAC) in the sensitive sector.
