New Delhi: Pandemi has sent what used to be the only airline that benefits India, Indigo, dark red.
Low-cost carrier (LCC) on Tuesday reported Hospital losses 3.174.2 Crore in April-June 2021, opposed the loss of RS 2842.6 Crore in the same period last year.
The airline scrip closed 1.8% lower at Rs 1,706.8 at BSE Tuesday, when the wider market fell 0.5%.
The last Fiscal Q1 loss is Indigo – or a quarterly loss of Indian carrier – the highest until April-June 22 proved to be worse especially because the second wave was destroyed which brought the noise in India.
Indigo CEO Ronojoy Dutta said: “Our financial results for the first quarter are very affected by the second Covid wave.
The number of traveling passengers decreased sharply in May and June.
With a second covid wave, receding, we saw recovery measured in bookings for July and August.
Apart from the challenges of this industry, we remain optimistic about the future of Indigo.
All of our focuses during this pandemic are to manage our cash balances, run high-quality airlines and to continue to build our capabilities and prepare for post covid environments.
“Indigo, Total Revenue for the quarter ended June 2021 was Rs 3,170.3 Crore, up 177.2% compared to the same period last year.
For the quarter, the shown up income was Rs 2,297.6 Crore, up 292.5% from the same period last year, and additional revenues were at Rs 668.3 Crore, an increase of 296.0% compared to the same period last year.
All domestic flights scheduled were suspended last year for two months from March 25 to May 24.
Indigo has a bud balance of RS 17.067.9 Crore – consists of RS 5.620.7 Crore free and RS 11,447.2 Crore Cash Limited – on June 30, 2021.
