POOR: Indonesian rescuers scrambled Friday to find survivors under the hillside of mud inundated after flash floods on Java island, killing at least eight people, the disaster agency said.
heavy rain on Thursday, releasing floods in the highland town of Malang and Batu, inundating homes with mud and debris, while the wall of water destroyed local bridges.
Six people were pulled from the detritus of life, while rescuers found the bodies of half a dozen in the Stone and two more victims in Malang.
On Friday, the team race to find a few more people have not been found in Stone, according to Indonesia’s national disaster mitigation agency, as the dead were placed in body bags.
“Until now, we are still trying to find three people still missing,” said the chairman of the body of Abdul Muhari in a statement.

Disasters often caused by deforestation and mitigation planning is poor, according to the environment.
Seven people were killed in landslides triggered by heavy storms in Sumatra last month.
