Bali: The Indian Olympic Medal of the Indian PV Sindhu shows a big determination to outwit Aya Ohor who is tenacious in the opening round of the Super 1000 event in Indonesia on Wednesday.
After a slow start, Sindhu, the ruled world champion, engineered the turnaround to register 17-21 21-17 21-17 victories who struggled with Ohori Japan in one hour 10 minutes to advance to the pre-quarter-finals.
With that victory, Sindhu increased his impressive record against the Japanese shuttler to 11-0.
Sindhu number seven world, who made the semifinal way out after suffering a defeat of the game directly to Yamaguchi here last week, will meet with the 23-year-old German shuttler Yvonne Li in the second round.
This will be the first meeting between the seeds of the Third India and the world number 26 Li.
Mixed double pair n Sikki Reddy and Dhruv Kapila made the first round door, fell to the Japanese Duo Kyohei Yamashita and Naru Shinaya, 7-21 12-21.
