Bhubaneswar: Secretary of State Industries Hemant Sharma on Wednesday led a high-level meeting with senior Talcher Fertilizers Limited (TFL) officials to accelerate the construction of the Greenfield urea plant in Angul District.
Ground Clearce’s work business is discussed at a meeting.
Sharma said the instructions were issued to the authorities concerned such as the commissioner of the Revenue Division, Sambalpur, and Angul Regency to sort out the problems related to ground clearance.
“Because the basis for the project has begun, we accelerate the process for the cleaning of the site.
We are reviewing the progress of the project and problems related to every month alternative.
We can say that the project is on track,” Sharma told toi.
The TFL was a joint venture Of the four psu centers – Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers (RCF), Gail (India) Ltd, Coal India Ltd and fertilizer Corporation of India Ltd (FCIL).
Fertilizers, especially urea, will be produced through coal gasification routes in a new factory, the official source said.
The joint venture has been formed to revive the Talcher factory which applies from Indian Fertilizer Ltd.
(FCIN) by establishing Urea Greenfield units.
With a production capacity installed 12.7 lakh metric tons per year (LMTPA).
The new factory will be developed with an investment of Rs 13,277 Crore.
This project will increase the availability of fertilizers to farmers and will save transportation subsidies for urea supply in the eastern part of the country.
This will also help reduce urea imports in a 12.7 LMTPA tone which leads to savings in foreign currencies.
Minister of Prime Narendra Modi has placed the Stone of the project foundation in September 2018 which is expected to be completed in December next year.
