Gurgaon: Residents of AVL36 Gurgaon on Tuesday expressed concern over rampant dumping and burning industrial waste by the Central Peripheral Road (CPR).
They accused that industrial waste thrown away by CPR was often burned and continued to burn for days, making it difficult for them to breathe.
The authorities concerned have failed to examine the perpetrators despite repeated complaints, the population was added.
Shailash Garg, one of the residents, said, “There is a regular disposal of industrial waste directly across our society and then waste burning.
We witnessed an event like that today (Tuesday).” He said that waste was very dangerous and emits black smoke , as well as very toxic gas, causing air pollution.
“Pollution has a negative impact on the health of the population who lives here.
We have regularly complained about this problem but the authorities have not paid anything to regard our worries,” Garg added.
Residents said that the authorities must be vigilant and take punishment of violators.
Amerendra Jha, a resident, said, “We have contacted a gentle fire to extinguish the fire.
However, until strict actions taken against violators, they will continue to violate the norm.” He claimed that the smoke released in the area caused irritation of the throat and eyes.

When contacted, a senior official with the state pollution control board Haryana said, “We don’t know about this problem.
