Thiruvananthapuram: After heavy rains and sporadic outbreaks of infectious diseases in all states, Health Minister Veena George held a meeting of all district medical officers (DMOS) on Saturday.
The Minister urges all DMOS and health services director to complete all hospitals to meet any emergency.
He has directed officials to store adequate medicines and also established Fever Wards if an emergency occurred.
The Minister also directed all DMOS to visit assistance camps opened by the district government and ensure that all Covid protocols are being followed here.
Has been directed to shift all the symptomatic people from the camp to the hospital.
With continuous rain, there is a threat to the spread of epidemics, especially in assistance camps.
Therefore, a special medical team will be deployed for these camps.
The district health administration has been asked to ensure the cleanliness and supply of adequate pure drinking water in all relief camps.
If there is a lack of drinking water, the district administration has been asked to ensure the supply of pure drinking water and also to protect drinking water sources.
Every chance to drink water sources mixed with contaminated water, it may cause several diseases, including diarrhea.
Therefore there is every need to protect the source of drinking water, the Minister said.
The district health administration and local government departments have been asked to ensure that mosquito density does not increase because it can trigger the spread of dengue fever and chikungunya.
Water blockages can cause mosquito breeding, which will be the source of disease deployment.
Therefore, the local body was asked to pay attention to this, added Veena.
