Bhubaneswar: Apart from the limits, imposed by the state government about the meeting, tourists from various countries continue to visit popular destinations such as Konark Sun Temple and Puri Beach recently.
Although the number of visitors is less than what is recorded on December 202, local residents fear of violations of Covid-19 guidelines by tourists can cause further deployment of the virus.
They urged the authorities concerned to ensure monitoring and enforcement of the tight Covid-19 protocol.
“We booked our trip to Odisha in early January and hoped not to cancel it.
We feel safe to travel.
We can’t travel for the past two years and don’t know how long the third wave will continue.
We follow all Covid-19 guidelines and fully Vaccinated, “said Sarad Sharma, Tourist from Nasik, Maharashtra.
On Monday, at Poush Purnima, Sagar Aarti was conducted at Puri Beach in front of Puri Sankaracharya Nischalanda Saraswati, Puri King Dibyasingha Deba, Governor of Odisha Ganeshi Lal, Senior Leader Bharti and several monkshu.
A total of 108 land lights were lit on the beach and the Vedic mantra was sung.
