New Delhi: Infosys have recognized technical issues in a new income tax portal and some initial disorders such as portal functions and non-availability of certain functions have been mitigated, parliament was told on Tuesday.
The www.incompax.gov.in portal has a bumpy start from the launch day on June 7 as a taxpayer, professional tax and other stakeholders reported interference in its functions.
This encouraged Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to hold a meeting on June 22 with infosys officials – who developed the portal – to review the problem.
In a question written on questions at Rajya Sabha, the State Minister for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said more than 700 e-mails detailing more than 2,000 problems including 90 unique problems / problems in the Portal received from various stakeholders including the Institute of Chartered Stopants of India ( ICAI), Professional Tax and Taxpayers.
“Infosys have acknowledged the technical issues in the function of the portal and have notified that technical problems …
continue to be resolved.
Some of the initial problems experienced by taxpayers regarding portal delay, non-availability of technical or technical functions in functions have been mitigated,” he said.
The income tax department takes corrective steps through infosys based on feedback from stakeholders, added minister.
In 2019, Infosys was awarded a contract to develop the next generation of income tax archiving system to reduce processing time for a return of 63 days to one day and accelerate refunds.
