Inpatient up 15% in 4 days, Mumbai on the dashboard bed

Mumbai: Daily Covid hospitalization in Mumbai has increased by 15% in the past four days amid a sharp increase in the case.
The jumbo centers managed by Civic compete against time to add beds, while private hospitals have begun to consuming many of their non-covid wards to the Covid section.
On Monday, 574 people were received in various city hospitals, up from 503 on Sunday, 389 on Saturday and 497 on Friday.
Some hospitals have begun to record the increase in ICU receipts, including many who come directly with low oxygen saturation levels.
The BMC Monday figures showed that 12.2% (3,735) from 30,565 covid-19 beds in Mumbai were occupied.
Of the 2,720 ICU beds, 14% filled.
The city has witnessed a surge in cases over the past two weeks and the increase in critical cases is usually seen from the second or third week and so on.
The lion part of the covid bed in the city is in the public sector.
As on Monday, the private sector only has 5,192 covid beds, which 838 (16%) regular beds and 180 (3%) ICU beds are occupied.
At the Nesco Jumbo Center in Goregaon, daily acceptance has increased from seven on December 26 to almost 120 on Monday.
About 510 beds from 1,172 are ready to be occupied on Monday afternoon.

Neelam Andrade said they planned to activate all 2,738 beds on January 10 and recruit health workers every day.
ICU occupancy has increased to 20 out of five a week ago, filling 42% of 48 beds.
“Patients need oxygen support, but there is no one in a mechanical ventilator,” he said.
