Coimbatore: Deputy Inspector General (Excavation) Muthusamy Police on Sunday praised the Inspector of the Mathaiyan tendril police, who pursued a bicycle lift on foot before arresting him.
The night patrol officer had noticed two men wearing a head scarf near a motorcycle parked at Pirivu tendrils on Sunday around 2am.
“When the police approached them, the duo fled, leaving the vehicle.
The police warned Mathaiyan, who was conducting a vehicle examination in the area.
Mathaiyan headed for Muthalipallayam Pirivu, where he saw two men wearing a head scarf on a motorcycle.
When he chased them, The duo fell on the road and began running.
One of them crossed the national highway and escaped.
The others entered the private school matriculation school.
Mathaiyan, with the help of the police driver SĂvakumar, arrested the thief, “said a police officer.
The police identified the man as P Hariharasudan, 23, Thangappa Nagar in Ramanathapuram district and grabbed a stolen motorcycle.
Based on information from Haritharasudan, the police caught his accomplice of Shankarurutam, 21, the layout of Pappamal in Pappanenickenpalayam and confiscated other stolen motorbikes.
The pursuit was caught several CCTV cameras installed in a commercial company at Muthalipallayam Pirivu.
