Facebook’s social media platform Instagram has launched new features that provide more control users in terms of the post type they see on the Explore tab of the application.
Features – called sensitive content control – will allow users to set the “sensitive content” level of the account they do not follow.
What is the Explore tab? This is part of the Instagram application where users can see posts from all accounts they don’t follow.
The private profile does not end up displaying the Explore tab and only the account appears in that section.
What is content sensitive? According to blog posts from Facebook and Instagram, sensitive content is posts that do not always damage the company’s rules, but potentially disappointing for some people.
The support page for sensitive content control provides three parameters for sensitive content: content that can describe violence, as fought for by people.
Content that might be sexually explicitly or suggestive, like a picture of people in translucent clothes.
Content that promotes the use of certain regulated products, such as tobacco or vaping products, adult products and services, or pharmaceutical drugs.
What will control sensitive content? This new feature, according to the company, will provide control users of sensitive content.
If they are fine with this type of posts that come on their exploration feed, they can leave everything.
Or, they can adjust sensitive content control to see more or less than some type of sensitive content.
How do I activate sensitive content control? New functionality will provide Instagram users three options – “Allow,” “limit” and “more limits.” By default, it will be set to “limits.” Users will be able to activate settings by going to their profile, then tap Settings> Account> Control content sensitive.
