But the company now plans to change this.
According to a report by Verge, Instagram has started a new test that will allow more users to add links to their Instagram stories.
As reported by the threshold, the link given in Instagram’s story will operate in a different way.
Links will not appear with the ‘swipe-up’ option, instead it will appear as a link sticker in the story.
So, users must tap the link to take part in the link.
The report added that people will also be able to respond to these stories that come with a link sticker, which is currently not permitted.
Vishal Shah, Product Head Instagram, told the threshold that the company was testing the features with a small group of users because they wanted to learn how people “might take advantage of the link”.
Instagram will also check the type of link that is shared by people and will make spam checks and information wrong.
