Nashik: The Municipal Corporate Health Department has directed all Nodal Division medical officers to implement quarantine and institutional isolation for all people with symptoms such as Covid and patients.
Ngargoje’s NMC Medical Supervisor said, “Based on the direction of the Chairman of the Minister of Uddhav Thackeray, we have directed health authorities to take several steps to ensure the spread of Covid infection contained.” The government has asked local authorities to take strict steps to curb the spread of infection, citing the possibility of the third wave.
Various steps that are prescribed include preferences for quarantine facilities and institutional isolation, not home quarantine.
“In general, asymptomatic patients are allowed to be isolated in their homes if they have the necessary facilities.
However, many times, it has been seen that infection spreads to family members.
This means that the limit is not followed in totality,” said Dr.
Nagargoje.
In addition, health officials have also been asked to form a fly team, who will visit crowded places and do rat and RPCR tests there.
“The test must be increased and crowded places can be used to increase testing,” the officer added.
Officers also asked officials to be alert to severe acute respiratory diseases (sari) and disease patients such as influenza (ILI) so that they could be treated on time and also tested for Covid.
