Chennai: A city motorcycle accident claimed the court directed a private insurance company to pay almost half of the crore to the family of a man who died after the bike reached his two wheels.
According to Petitioner G Vijaya from Tirunindravur, her husband Gopinath drove his bicycle along the service road from Honest Vandalur 400ft Road on April 2, 2018, when the bicycle driven by rashly crashed into two wheels from behind.
Gopinath died of an injury on April 8 after reading all submissions, the court argued that the accident occurred due to a rash and driving another driver and stated that the victim’s family was responsible for compensation.
Victims, quality control executives at a quarterly company, aged 36 years at accident.
Considering factors including future prospects, medical expenses and other, courts arrive at the amount of compensation of 46.4 lakh.
Of the total compensation, Vijaya meets the requirements for 25 lakh and their little daughter meets the requirements for 15 lakh.
The remaining amount must be given to the victim’s mother, the court ruled.
