Intel has launched a mobile processor core i9 12th generation of laptops at CES 2022.
The new chip runs directly against Apple M1 chipset Max, which has set a benchmark in the industry by offering the best class performance and efficiency compared to other processors.
At the presentation, Intel has made great claims about the latest generation processor and claim that it is faster than M1 Max, in fact they make the claim that it is the fastest mobile processor.
Let’s see i9 core processor specs 12th generation and how it compares with the M1 chipset Max strongest on paper.
For starters, the Core i9 is a processor core 14 which includes a high-performance six-core and eight-core power efficiency.
For comparison, M1 MAX has a total of 10-core covers eight core high performance and power efficiency of dual cores.
Things are getting interesting when it comes to clock speeds and power draw.
Core i9 can achieve a maximum power draw of up to 115 watts and has a clock speed of 5.0GHz turbo max.
Which once again stronger than m1 max.
Intel showcased graph at the presentation of the launch shows the graph between performance and power chatter that indicates power per watt ratio that is better than the chip M1 Max.
However, there are some things that still do Apple M1 Max better than the Intel Core i9 12th generation.
M1 Max can run at lower power consumption and also has good thermal management.
Which makes it suitable for thin and light laptops such as the MacBook Pro.
On paper, the Intel chip would feel stronger, but it is only a matter of time before Apple launches its M2 chip which may take a huge leap in performance.
Also, this results in the core chipset i9 12th generation Intel only based on the specifications and data disclosed by Intel.
So, we have to examine the laptop, which is expected to arrive later this year, for a clear perspective.
