Pune: Active Thunder Clouds above the Pune region on Monday night causes intense rain spells in most cities, resulting in puddles in chronic spots, power cuts and traffic.
The first mantra of heavy rain began in various fields such as Kothrud and DECCAN Gymkhana around 17:30 and slowed down for a while.
Rain continued around 7pm and continued for 40 minutes.
While the quantum of rain is recorded until the time of the press, Shivajinagar records 26.3mm in just half an hour.
Anupam Kashyapi, Head of the Weather Forecasting Division, Indian Meteorology Department, Pune, said that since the next few days will be convective, the amount of rainfall tends to be different from one region to another.
“For example, small cells of cumulonimbus clouds above one area in the city can cause light rain.
But the cells that are greater than this cloud can cause moderate rain,” he said.
Meteorology J R Kulkarni said 26.3mm Rain in half an hour to 45 minutes was considered intense.
“This is different from the rainy season rainfall, which is usually scattered during the day, say 10mm in a 24-hour period.
Such convective rain spells are characteristic for the formation of cumulonimbus clouds on the field of influence,” he added.
The IMD has estimated most of the cloudy sky (becoming cloudy who generally headed in the afternoon / night), thunderous activity, lightning and rain while in the city until October 8 at night experiencing similar weather conditions and heavy rain.
The temperature of the day in Shivajinagar on Monday is 34.2ÂșC high with relative humidity of 73%, which causes convective rain at night.
Areas such as Shivajinagar, Nibm Road, Kothrud, Pashan, Kalyaninagar, Camp, Sahakarnagar, Warje, Kothrud, Karvidar and Bavdhan watched thunder and intense lightning, followed by sharp rain spells.
In Shivajinagar, the rain began at around 7:30 p.m.
and continued for some time.
The rain triggered a layer of traffic on Jalan Karve, PAUD Road and Bylane from the Karvenagar area and Bavdhan.
Main traffic congestion was also reported near Chandani Chowk.
Areas such as Nibm Road, UNDRI, Shastrinagar, Karve statues, venaz angles and the parts of the Karvenagar watch waterlogging.
Many areas such as Wanowrie face hour cutting power, while residents also face problems with the internet and cellular networks.
Within half an hour of the rain, many roads and bylane on Jalan Salung Vihar and the Kondhwa area were flooded.
The road in the camp, Swargate, Anandnagar in Sinhagad Road and Vadgaon are flooded at night.
Subway which leads to the Pune train station is also submerged after a sharp spell.
Pune Mayor Murlidhar Mohol Tweet at night, “Given heavy rain in the city of Pune, the right instructions have been given to the disaster management department.
All systems are ready.
I own the situation.
Go home as soon as possible and avoid going if you are at home!” Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has prepared a quick response team to attend any calls about Flash floods, with 150 people stored in the field.
The team will coordinate with 15 Ward offices.
Special team has been deployed for night assignments.
“In addition to chronic spots, special attention has been given to areas such as ODHA, where flash floods are witnessed a few years ago,” said Madhav Jagtap, a senior official PMC disaster management department.
Corporator Yogesh Sasane from Hadapsar said workers monitored the situation late at night.
Shivajinagar Mla Siddharth Shirole said the disaster management system was postponed and the situation was being monitored continuously.
Without relentless rain, according to the electricity distribution company Maharashtra Limited (MSEDCL), produces power supports in fields such as Nibm Road, Katraj, Wanowrie, Wadgonsteri and Sasanenagar.
Nishikant Raut, MsEDCL Public Relations Official, Pune, told TII that the electricity company had to keep several small feeder pillars closed because of water sized, while there were several tree incidents that fell on a low tension line as well.
“At 9:30 a.m., we have recovered a 95% power supply in an affected area,” he said.
The City Fire Brigade received four tree calls revoked and fell in Jalan Gultekdi, Vishrantwadi and Sinhagad.
