Pune: Active Thunder Clouds above the Pune region on Monday night causes intense rain spells in most cities, resulting in puddles in chronic spots, power cuts and traffic.
The first mantra of heavy rain began in various fields such as Kothrud and DECCAN Gymkhana around 17:30 and slowed down for a while.
Rain continued around 7pm and continued for 40 minutes.
While the quantum of rain is recorded until the time of the press, Shivajinagar records 26.3mm in just half an hour.
Anupam Kashyapi, Head of the Weather Forecasting Division, Indian Meteorology Department, Pune, said that since the next few days will be convective, the amount of rainfall tends to be different from one region to another.
“For example, small cells of cumulonimbus clouds above one area in the city can cause light rain.
But the cells that are greater than this cloud can cause moderate rain,” he said.
Meteorology J R Kulkarni said 26.3mm Rain in half an hour to 45 minutes was considered intense.

Such convective rain spells are characteristic for the formation of cumulonimbus clouds on the field of influence,” he added.

Subway which leads to the Pune train station is also submerged after a sharp spell.

The team will coordinate with 15 Ward offices.
Special team has been deployed for night assignments.
“In addition to chronic spots, special attention has been given to areas such as ODHA, where flash floods are witnessed a few years ago,” said Madhav Jagtap, a senior official PMC disaster management department.
Corporator Yogesh Sasane from Hadapsar said workers monitored the situation late at night.
Shivajinagar Mla Siddharth Shirole said the disaster management system was postponed and the situation was being monitored continuously.

The City Fire Brigade received four tree calls revoked and fell in Jalan Gultekdi, Vishrantwadi and Sinhagad.
