Ludhiana: To check the spread of diseases transmitted through vectors, Punjab food, civil equipment and consumer minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu on Saturday issued strict instructions to city corporate officials to intensify fogging in all city environments.
He also directed the Ministry of Health officials whose special examination of dengue fever larvae must also be done.
Special meetings in this case were chaired by the Cabinet Minister at the Mayor’s camp office here.
The meeting was also attended by the Mayor of Balkar Singh Sandhu, Senior Deputy Sham Sunder Malhotra, MC Dr.
Jai Parkash Sharma and Mamta Ashu, Aditya Dachalwal Aditywal Commissioner, Commissioner Zonal Jasdev Singh Sekhon, Assistant by a civilian Dr.
Vivek Kumar Kataria, Epidemiology of DR Regency DR Sahil Verma , in addition to several others.
During the meeting, Bharat Bhushan Ashu directed officials to identify high-risk areas and provide special emphasis on them.
He also directed MC officials and the Ministry of Health to carry out a survey to check the dengue of larvae in the housing and commercial part of the city.
He also directed them to form a special team in this regard and produce awareness among people in the city to prevent the spread of dengue fever.
Ashu directed officials to intensify fogging in all city wards, focusing on the streets and empty plots to kill mosquitoes and destroy the larvae that breed in stagnant water.
He further said that places are vulnerable where mosquito larvae can breed easily must be identified and the action must be taken immediately.
He added that in addition to checking the drive, the locals must be made aware of the reasons for mosquito breeding such as air conditioning, tea cups, old / obsolete equipment among others.
Bharat Bhushan Ashu also convinced residents that he personally maintained a close watch to examine the spread of dengue fever.
