Thiruvananthapuram: Transfer doctors between the department in medical education services has invited criticism among doctors.
On July 1, orders to transfer 18 doctors between departments in various medical universities were issued.
This order has been based on Kat’s direction.
A doctor with a MBBS title joins as assistant professor (lecturer) in one of the specialties and then secures post graduation (PG) in other disciplines.
This doctor then looks for transfers to a new specialty where it has secured PG.
Such a doctor is given the transfer between departments.
However, various associations in medical education services protested the transfer.
They bask as irrational and it is the backdoor entry of the doctor into several departments when there is a list of existing PSC.
The doctors argue that for post-graduation cadres entries in specialization must be made important.
Then this problem can be resolved.
“These people actually lose the opportunity to wait on the PSC list.
Many departments have lost their position because of the transfer.
This is illegal and irrational transferring between departments,” said Dr.
Ajith Prasad from the college teacher association Medical Postgraduate.
The doctors claim that there are several examples of doctors who join in different specializations when there are no vacancies in their respective disciplines.
“These doctors are seeking transfers between departments later, who deny the opportunity of decent people in the PSC list.
Sometimes, even the reservation chair is filled through the appointment of the meeting, “said a leader of the Kerala Medical Higher Education Teacher Association (KGMCTA).
In the last order, doctors who have joined the Department post lectures such as anatomy, microbiology, neurology, general treatment, biochemistry, neuro surgery, anesthesia, pathology and general surgery have been transferred to other departments.
