Tenkasi: Unhappy for His Inter-Reliony’s Love Marriage, a man hacked his 19-year-old daughter to death, in a village near Alangulam in the Tekasi District of Nadu early on Wednesday.
The victim has been identified as Shalom Sheeba and the defendant, Marimuthu, 45, a shepherd.
The family has repented to Christian a few years ago.
Sheeba fell in love with S Muthuraj, 22, a daily wage worker from the same village.
Even though both are included in the same caste, their parents oppose their affair because of their different religions.
However, they married last year after the girl was 18 years old.
Even though the couple lived separately, Sheeba was used to visit his mother occasionally when his father was not at home.
Marimuthu was annoyed because the family and friends made fun of him over the elopement of his daughter and marriage.
Cannot bear criticism, he asked his daughter not to come to his house.
On Tuesday, there was a temple festival in the village until late at night.
Sheeba told her husband that she wanted to see her relatives and went to her parents around 3am.
An argument broke out between father and daughter and, in anger, he attacked him in the head and hands with machetes.
Terrible for the incident, the other lifted alarm and told the villagers.
The girl rushed to Tirunelveli Government Medical College and Hospital and was under intensive care for a few hours before she died.
The Uthumalai police secured Marimuthu and recorded it for trying to kill at first which was then changed to kill under the 302 IPC section.
He was produced before Judicial Judge in Tekasi and returned in judicial detention.
