Srinagar: The internet service was restored in Central Kashmir on Tuesday night, a week after administration clamping the “sidewalk of Cative” about traffic and telecommunications after Pro-Pakistan Hurriyat Hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani.
“Cellular internet will open in Srinagar & Budgam today at 7pm,” Igp Vijay Kumar was announced earlier that day.
He expressed regret to discomfort caused by students with sudden suspension of internet services.
The authorities have continued the internet in the remaining districts in the valley on Monday.
In the midst of criticism and controversy regarding other internet blackouts, DGP Dibbag Singh praised security forces to “handle land situations for the past five days in Kashmir” and local populations, especially young people, for “responsible behavior”.
“We must move forward together to strengthen peace by identifying enemies of peace and weaning naughty elements, firmly dealing with them under the law,” Police J & K tweeted.
