A tree had fallen to him during the unrelenting rain which disappointed Chennai.
The police took him to his shoulders to reach the autorickshaw he had arranged for the hospital.
In the 2-minute video that has now become a viral, Rajeshwari can be seen running panicked, bringing the man on his shoulder and shouting to his colleagues there that he must be saved at any cost.
He has covered it with a blanket.
The man, identified as a 28-year-old Udhayakumar, was treated in the ICU and said to be well recovered.
I Inspector Rajeshwari is no stranger to selfless public services.
