Investment Rs 10.480CR in Howrah in 2 years to make 1 lakh job

HOWRA: Head of West Bengal Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Thursday that his government expected an investment of Rs 10,480 Crore in Howrah Regency for the next two years, which would lead to the creation of employment opportunities for more than 1 lakh.
Overcoming a review meeting in the district, Banerjee said 882 new projects would appear in Howrah in the next two years.
“In the next two years, investment in the tone of Rs 10,480 crores will come in the HOWRA district.
About 882 new projects and industrial parks will appear in the district, producing more than 1,16,000 jobs,” he said.
Banerjee urged industrialists to recruit local residents rather than carrying workers from other countries.
“We are aware that people from other countries come here looking for work.
We live in peace and harmony.
But I will ask you all (industrialists) to recruit local residents for future projects,” he said.
Banerjee also asked the District Authority and the Department of Land to resolve the earliest land related issues.
“There is a lack of coordination.
I will ask the district and landland officials to see the problem and resolve the earliest.
On December 14, the synergy program will be set to see the problem,” he said.
Announcement of the Head of Minister of Investment in Howrah is part of the new government efforts to bring large ticket investments.
Banerjee also announced that the state government plans to develop a new milk company – ‘Bangla Dairy’ – under the State Livestock Department of Livestock.
“It will sell various types of dairy products.
About 512 outlets will arrange to sell these products,” he said.
