Ballari: The involvement of a small boy in the case of large home theft has surprised the Ballari police on Friday.
This was said to be the first case involving boys in the district.
The 17-year-old boy from a village in the Ballari district allegedly stole cash and gold from his neighbor’s house when the inmates were out of town.
Although no one suspected him in this case, the police arrested him after the crime month when they pay attention to changes in his behavior.
Sources said the boy’s parents were poor, while he wanted to live a luxurious life.
To fund his habit, he crashed into a house in his neighbor “when a neighbor went out of town last month, the boy hit his house and made with jewelry and cash at Rs 2-3 Lakh,” the police said added.
But the police suspected him after the boy continued to travel to Bengaluru.
“After we took the child to detention, he claimed to steal.
We have recovered 105 grams of jewelry worth Rs 5.50 lakh from him,” he said.
During the interrogation, the boy was told that he had stolen money to party in Bengaluru, and to buy liquor and expensive cellphone.
“He traveled 2-3 times to Bengaluru because of partying.
He also plans to sell jewelry.
This is the first case in the Ballari district in several times, where a small boy has done alone theft,” he said.
