New Delhi: Retired IPS Officer B K Sinha will carry out a multiple security role and press the upperone from the Indian Olympic contingent in the Tokyo game, which began on July 23, IOA announced on Friday.
Sinha is a former Haryana DGP and also a recipient of the President’s police medal.
“Mr.
BK Sinha (RETD DG POLICE, IPS) who left with the Indian contingent for the Tokyo Olympics as a security attachment, will now, along with handling responsibilities on the ship, will also handle the responsibility of pressure,” Indian Olympic Association President Narinder Batra and Secretary General Rajeev Mehta said in a joint statement.
“Mr.
B K Sinha will depart from Delhi to Tokyo on July 22, 2021.” India will be represented by a strong 228 contingent, including 119 athletes, at the Tokyo Olympics, held under a strict health protocol Sans audience after the pandemic of Covid-19 is raging.
The first athlete batch will leave for Tokyo on July 17 from the national capital.
The screen team has reached Tokyo after their training in Europe.
