Apple has maintained its position as a global leader in the tablet market at the end of Q2, 2021, according to a new report by Canalys.
According to the report, Apple sold 14.2 million iPads globally and the company’s share at the end of the quarter reached 36.3%.
Cupertino-based technology giant has been on a roll when it comes to launching an iPad model.
Since March 2020 – around the time the world was hit with a pandemic – Apple has launched four new models.
These include two iPad pro, one iPad air and one ipad ‘regular’ model.
The Canalys report did not study which iPad model caused the overall high sales to the company.
The Global Q2 2021Fter Apple tablet market, in the second position is Samsung.
South Korean technology giants have witnessed an annual growth of 13.8% with 8 million shipping units at the end of Q2, 2021.
The company amounted to 20.5% market share.
Lenovo witnessed the highest growth in the 77.5% quarter.
The company sent 4.7 million units in this quarter and captured a market share of 12%.
Amazon and Huawei landed in fourth and fifth position with a market share of 8% and 5.9%.
The two companies witnessed a decrease in annual growth but there was a big difference in numbers.
While Amazon witnessed de-growth of 1.5%, Huawei’s annual growth fell 54%.
“The tablet market really rested all the predictions of slow deaths,” said Research Analyst in Canalys Hienya Mukka.
“We have now seen a quarter of the years of growth in the fifth year-to-year growth and this industry has many reasons to be optimistic for the future,” Mukka added.
