Internet search giant Google is set to roll out new features to Google Photos app on iOS bringing a host of editing features it offers Android users already.
Google’s community manager in a Photos help forum post announced that “smart and easy-to-use features” are set to be rolled out to iOS users.
Google Photos on iPhones will soon start showing a new tab in the photo editor that uses machine learning to give you suggestions that are tailored to the specific photo they are editing.
These suggestions include a number of editing features, like brightness, contrast and more.
Other than this, Google Photos will also show suggestions like Enhance and Color Pop to iPhone users.
“We’ll continue to add more suggestions over time to help your portraits, landscapes, sunsets, and more really stand out,” said the post.
For those Google Photos users who may want to see what changes were applied, many suggestions will show the specific edits that changed the photo.
This, according to Google, will allow users to use more granular controls to customise further.
Lastly, in terms of video editing Google Photos app on iPhone will allow users to trim, rotate, crop, adjust, and apply filters.
“We also updated the look and feel to match the new photo editor and make the experience easier to use,” added Google.
Recently, Google Photos stopped providing free unlimited Google Photos backup in High Quality.
This means that all photos that users backup on Google Photos — whether it’s in High Quality or Original Quality — will consume the free 15GB storage of the Google account that gets shared across Gmail and Drive.
Earlier, only those photos that were backed in Original Quality occupied Google account storage.
