IPL Auction 2022: Unadkat, Gowtham bears a large salary deduction

Bengaluru: At the end of the last IPL auction, players like Pacer Jaydev Unadkat and Off-Spinner K Gowtham hit the dirt because the franchise raised the peg to buy it.
This year, the two players, who knew the auction on the second day, took massive salary cuts.
Saurashtra Pacer Left-arm Unadkat, who jerks for Rs 11.5 Crore by Rajasthan Royals in 2018, saw his stock fell to Rs 8.5 Crore last year but lived with Rajasthan.
This time, he was bought by Mumbai but with a massive sauce in his salary, which stood at RS 1.3 Crore.
The IPL auction: As happened worse for Karnataka All-Rounder K Gowtham, which in 2021 became the highest Indian paid without payment, went to Chennai Super Kings for Rs 9.25 Crore.
The 33-year-old player, who got India’s hat last year, had to settle for Rs 90 Lakh (basic price of Rs 50 Lakh) offered by Lucknow Super Giants.

While most franchises choose to wait and watch, Punjab spends two players.
At Rs 11.5 Crore, England Liam Living Opening Stone, Manish Pandey took the biggest payment pieces, went for RS 4.6 Crore to Lucknow after Sunrisers Hyderabad paid Rs 11 Crore before.
David Warner (RS 12.5 Crore, SRH) also saw a decline in salary when he settled Rs 6.25 Crore from the capital Delhi.
Not to forget Pat Cummins, the payment package is more than twice from Rs 15.5 Crore to RS.
7.25 Crore.
