Dubai: The sabotage effort at Iran’s nuclear facilities in June caused small damage to the building but no equipment, the Iranian government said on Tuesday, blaming attacks on Israel.
Satellite images that appear to show that the part of the roof was lost when the building was being repaired, Government spokesman Ali Rabiei said at a press conference brought by government media.
“We do not have damage to equipment.
There is a small damage to the roof and the photos (satellites) taken when the roof is removed for repairs,” Rabiei said, according to the official IRNA news agency.
He said the incident was an effort by Israel to thwart talks aimed at reviving the 2015 Iranian nuclear agreement with the world’s power, which opposed Israel.
“The Zionist regime (Israel) has taken this action to stop Iran and say that the world does not need to talk to Iran,” he said.
Israeli Prime Minister Naphtali Bennett declined to comment.
Iran accused Israel from several attacks on facilities related to the nuclear program and killed the nuclear scientists over the past few years.
Israel did not argue or confirm the accusation.
The Iranian media said on June 23 that the sabotage effort on the construction of an Iranian atomic energy organization located in the West Tehran was thwarted, without “losing life or property damage”.
