Dubai: Iranian President Ebrahim Relision, spoke at the commemoration of the second murder General of Qassim Sulimani by the US, said that former US President Donald Trump had to face the trial for murder or Tehran would take revenge.
Iran and groups allied with him in Iraq have held an event to honor Sulemani, Quds Commander, Overseas of the Revolutionary Guards’ Overseas Of The Elite Guards.
He was killed in Iraq in a drone attack on January 3, 2020, ordered by President Trump.
“If Trump and (former Secretary of State Mike) Pompeo is not tried in a fair court for criminal actions to kill General Soleimani, Muslims will take revenge of our martyrs,” said Relision in a speech on Monday.
Iranian justice officials have communicated with the authorities in nine countries after identifying 127 suspects in this case, including 74 US citizens, General General Mohammad Jafar Montazeri told State Television.
On Sunday, Iran urged the UN Security Council in a letter to hold the US and Israel, which Tehran said was also involved in murder, to accounts, according to Iranian media.
A few days after the murder, the US told the United Nations so that the murder defended himself.
