Iran to continue nuclear talks on Thursday: MP

Tehran: Iran will continue nuclear negotiations, which are suspended in June, with the world’s power on October 21, an Iranian lawmaker said the week after the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdolhian.
The minister said that “talks with group 4 + 1 will restart on Thursday in Brussels”, Ahmad Alirzabeigui told the ultra-conservative news agency after a closed session with Amir-Abdolhian.
The parliamentarians referred to four PBB security council permanent members – England, China, France and Russia – together with Germany.
Iran and five of these countries opened talks in Vienna in April with the European Union (EU) also present while the United States has taken part in indirect negotiations.
The United States, China, Russia, Germany, France and the UK reached an agreement in Vienna with Iran in its nuclear program in 2015.
But then President Donald Trump attracted America from an agreement in 2018 and harmed biting sanctions.
Since then, Tehran – which confirms its nuclear program is for civilian purposes only – has also resigned from many commitments based on an agreement.
Substitute Trump, Joe Biden said he was ready to return to the agreement if the Islamic Republic adhered to his nuclear commitment.
Vienna talks aimed at reviving the agreement was suspended in June, when Iran chose Ultrakonvative Ebrahim Relision as President.
UE Diplomatic Head Josep Borrell said on Friday he was “ready” to meet Iranian leaders in Brussels as part of an attempt to revive a shaky agreement.
Another Iranian lawmaker, Behrouz Mohebbi Najmabadi, said on Twitter on Sunday that negotiations would continue “this week”.
