Tehran: Iran on Tuesday broke another record in the cases of new Coronavirus every day, even when Tehran and surrounding it into locking, a measure for a week was enforced in the midst of another pandemic surge.
The State Ministry announced 27,444 new cases and 250 deaths for the past day, bringing the victims overall to 87,624 from more than 3.5 million cases confirmed in a pandemic.
On Tuesday, Iran began another lock – the fifth of the nation so far – which is intended to last until next Monday.
All markets, market places and public offices are closed, as well as cinemas, fitness centers, and restaurants, in the province of Tehran and the neighboring province of Alborz.
On Monday, Governor of Tehran Province Anoushiravan Bandpay announced the red code, said all hospitals in the province had reached their full capacity.
During the previous surge in the case, in April, Iran reported the highest number of cases of everyday, 25,582.
At that time, the number of daily deaths jumped to around 400, below the record of Grim 486 last November.
Iranian authorities have recently warned about a new surge, driven by a rapidly spread Delta variant.
In Iran’s sanctions, which have the highest Covid-19 deaths in the Middle East, less than 2% of the 84 million population have received a dose, especially from imported Russian and Chinese vaccines.
