Officials say the supply evaluation process will be accelerated and the tender will be given soon.
“This is an area that has not been mapped for the train.
A good start has been made to see the train operating in 2024,” said a source.
Sources say while one bidder has quoted more than 10% share of income by train, the other almost does not offer to share less than 1%.
Bidders who offer the share of maximum income will get a project.
The train ministry has invited offers for private participation to view 151 trains (raku) more than 12 clusters through public-private partnerships (PPP).
Initially, there were a large number of responses for pre-qualifications from private players and public sector companies.
The offer date must be expanded because private players need more clarity and have suggested changes in bidding conditions.
Responding to parliamentary questions on Friday, the Ashwini Vaishnaw train minister told the Rajya Sabha that the existing passenger train services would not be affected by the operation of the train service through PPP mode and this would be an additional train service.
