Is Gurugram’s boys infected at the poultry shop?

Gurugram: Sushil Kumar, a 11-year-old boy from Gurugram who has contracted H5N1 Avian Influenza and died at AIIMS Delhi on July 11, also suffered leukemia and pneumonia and had undergone hospital treatment for more than a month.
According to the Ministry of Health, the boy used to live with his grandmother in Chakkarpur.
His parents, who came from Bihar, had lived in Gurugram for the past two months.
Sushil’s grandmother’s partner works at a meat shop, which is right next to a poultry shop.
Livestock for this store comes from Rajasthan.
The health department suspects that boy may have captured infection from the store.
A report from the National Virology Institute Pune (NIV) has confirmed the H5N1 influenza virus.
This institute is now carrying out the overall genome sequencing of the samples collected from children.
The Ministry of Health Union on Wednesday said that the National Disease Control Center (NCDC) was conducting an epidemiological investigation involving the Department of Livestock and the Haryana Government Supervision Unit.
Gurugram health officials say tracing contracts within a 10 km radius have begun.
Five rapid response teams have so far prepared more than 7,500 people in the area.
Deputy Director of the Ministry of Animal Husbandry, Dr.
Punak Gahlakawa, said it had not detected alleged bird flu cases until now.
“We do regular and random inspections on poultry farms and send samples for testing every month,” he added.
Meanwhile, the boy’s family member said they were still waiting for the death certificate from AIIMS.
Sushil’s father, Jitender Saha told Ti that his son had run and died in May, became very pale and developed a ‘bluish’ rash in color on his leg.
On June 10, he took the boy to the Uma Sanjeevani hospital in Sector 55.
Sushil called AIIMS, where he had undergone chemotherapy.
He was taken to OPD on June 12.
The doctor observed an enlarged heart and alleged mushroom pneumonia.
Sahha said Sushil returned home but his condition did not improve.
He was treated to AIIMS on July 8.
“My boy died on July 11 at 11 in the morning.
We are still waiting for the death certificate and the cause of death.
We visited AIIMS on Tuesday but did not get details,” said Saha, who works as a daily wage worker in Samastipur Bihar.
He added that he and other people in the family have received drugs from the Ministry of Health, even though they have no symptoms or health problems.
The official Gurugram Head of Virender Yadav said the health of 15 high-risk people, including family members and neighbors of the boy, were being monitored.
“Even though the 10-day incubation period has passed, we have given them oseltamivir, antivirus drugs, as a precaution.
We have not received the cause of death from AIIM and cannot confirm that the boy dies because of bird flu,” said Dr.
Yadav, added that the department planned To make a bird flu center in a civil hospital if there are cases suspected.
10 additional fast response teams will be deployed on Thursday to carry out supervision and filtering, CMO said.
The plan is to filter 15,500 people at Chakkarpur Saraswati Vihar, where the family lives.
