Kirkuk / Iraq: Thirteen police were killed in an attack by the Islamic group against the checkpoint near Kirkuk in North Iraq Sunday, medical and security resources.
The attack, in the south of the city, took place after midnight, an Iraqi senior police officer told AFP.
Jihadist cells regularly target Iraqi and police soldiers in the area, but this attack is one of the most deadly groups this year.
