Ranchi: He saved 100 lives by providing free Covid patients on his autorickshaw during the brutal second wave.
Meet Ravi Agarwal, all 21, citizens of the Kokar area in Ranchi, who were recognized for Ispat Irada by the Ministry of Steel for releasing short biopics on selfless services.
Biopic is part of the Steel initiative of the IRADA Ministry of Ispati which aims to highlight individuals with strong determination to establish examples with their selfless services to the community.
The 190-second video was released by steel services on their Twitter account on Thursday night.
Short biopic highlighted the daily life of Ravi where he distributed newspapers in the morning and pushed the autorickshaw to get his livelihood until late at night.
Ravi he lives with his parents and an older brother and now in the last year graduated.
A senior official from the Steel Ministry said, “The way in which Ravi has set an example for others in serving the community even without thinking about the risk itself who deserves appreciation.

“Ispati Irada is a campaign to highlight stories that inspire and Ravi seems to be above the list because of its services to Covid patients.

Ravi said he was grateful to steel services to recognize his business and vowed to continue his services to people in distress.
“The second wave of Covid-19 made me realize that people are helpless and if the community as a whole is not advanced, we will continue to lose more lives,” Ravi said.
But how did the Ispat Irada happen? “I was near Lalpur Chowk and saw two women in trouble who had to go to the rim but no automatic drivers were ready to teach them because of the fear of the virus.
One of them was an old woman who could barely stand when she was very sick.
So I offered them a ride until the Trauma Center Rims and the officers offered me Rs 200.
However, I refused to take money when I realized that he was in trouble and money would help him and I just asked his blessings, “Ravi said.
Ravi said on the way home, he decided that he would give a free vehicle to Covid patients.
Ravi carried 104 Covid-19 patients during the second wave and did not charge a single pissa fee from anyone of them.
But once the news spread, people from various angles began to contribute through UPI because their cellphone numbers became viral.
“I didn’t do this for money so I returned Rs 91,500 Rs 95,500 and with the remaining RS 4,000 I bought plant puppies and began distributing to everyone I had transported my auto by visiting their homes.
Many of them want to thank the cash and good but I asked them to plant puppies as my gift back, “Ravi added.
After the second wave ended Ravi announced that he would give a free trip to anyone who had to visit the hospital Or face an emergency.
He has installed a mold on his autorickshaw which says that travel is free for people in an emergency and 24×7 available.
