Jerusalem: Israel decided Friday to expand the restrictions on difficult trips including the ban on the entry in all foreign nationals for ten more days, in an effort to stop subsequent cases from the Omicron variant that entered the country.
In a statement issued by Israeli Prime Minister, Neftali Bennett, and Minister of Health Nitzan Horowitz, the restrictions on passengers who arrived at Ben-Gurion Israel International Airport would run to at least December 22.
Under the current requirements, all the Israelites who returned from abroad must be quarantined themselves until they receive confirmation of the negative Coronavirus test results, while those who come from high-risk countries are required to isolate in a quarantine hotel that is ruled until they receive negative PCR test results.
The statement also said additional restrictions and incentives for vaccination can be worn in the coming days.
Israel has identified at least 21 cases of omicron coronavirus variant which is very mutated first detected in South Africa.
Israel, a country of 9.3 million people, has reported 8,210 deaths from Coronavirus since the start of Pandemi.
Most of the population – more than 6.3 million people – have received at least one dose of pfizer / bionech vaccine, and more than 4 million Israelis have received booster.
