Israel launched an air strike in Lebanon in response to rockets

Tel Aviv: Israel on Thursday increases its response to rocket attacks this week by launching a rare air strike in Lebanon, the army said.
The army said in a statement that Jets hit the launch site from which rockets had been fired the previous day, as well as additional targets used to attack Israel in the past.

US Ministry of Finance spokesman Ned Price condemned rocket fire from Lebanon.
“Israel has the right to defend itself on such attacks,” he told reporters in Washington, adding that the US would remain engaged to partners “in this region in an effort to improve the situation.
” At the United Nations, Stephane Dujarric spokesman said the UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon, known as UNIFIL, was aware of rocket fires and Israeli artillery responses.
He said the Unifil Commander, General General Stefano del Col, appealed the ceasefire and urged both parties to “run the maximum restraint to avoid further escalation.”
