Jerusalem: Israel intends to import foreign workers for the high-tech sector on the basis of experiments to offset the shortage of Pandemic era labor, Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman said on Monday.
As a comment on his party’s legislators, Lieberman said Israel was experiencing a shortage of labor throughout the economy as a whole during the coronavirus pandemic, with employers demanding action from the government, including work permits for foreigners.
“We will do some kind of experiment in the high-tech sector.
We will agree to bring foreign workers – even for high-tech sectors,” he said.
Lieberman did not give a number or period of time for the trial in the Israeli high-tech industry which was booming, which collected $ 25 billion this year.
Foreigners today are not permitted to this country because of covid restrictions.
Salary in the technology industry is much higher than the country’s average, and employs around 10% of national labor.
