Israeli Defense Minister, Palestinian President, Discuss ‘Trust Buildings’

Jerusalem: Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said he spoke with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Monday and that both of them agreed there was a need to make trust development steps.
It was the first high-level contact published by the new Israeli government, who was sworn in last month, combining leaders serving the country, Benjamin Netanyahu.
The ruling coalition consists of left, centric wing, right-wing and Arabian parties with a little in common in the front of the diplomatic.
Officials said they would focus on domestic reforms and most avoid moving international hot-bent issues such as the policy on Palestine.Gantz said he shared with Abbas’s good desire for Eid al-Adha holidays, one of the two Islamic calendar festivals.
“The discussion was positive and both quoted the need to advance the development measures of the trust between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, which would benefit the economy and security of the entire region,” said Gantz’s office in a statement.
The Abbas office confirmed the call but did not provide details.
A new new president, whose role was mostly ceremonial, said he was talking last week with Abbas, who congratulated him on a new role.
