Jerusalem: Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said he spoke with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Monday and that both of them agreed there was a need to make trust development steps.
It was the first high-level contact published by the new Israeli government, who was sworn in last month, combining leaders serving the country, Benjamin Netanyahu.

“The discussion was positive and both quoted the need to advance the development measures of the trust between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, which would benefit the economy and security of the entire region,” said Gantz’s office in a statement.
The Abbas office confirmed the call but did not provide details.
