Jerusalem: Israeli military said the army shot and injured a Palestinian woman after she attacked them with a knife in the west bank that was occupied on Monday night.
The woman was hospitalized after being shot in the “lower body” near the city of West Bank Nablus North, the military said in a statement early Tuesday.
A military spokesman said he was not aware of his current condition.
There were no Israeli soldiers who were injured in the incident.
Palestinians have done dozens of car attacks, shooting and piercing against Israeli soldiers and civilians in recent years, mostly in the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinians and Israeli human rights groups said soldiers often used excessive strength.
Israeli forces opened fire in the car in the south western city of Beit Ummar last month, killing 12 years old Mohammed Al-Natural when he and his family drive to the store to get snacks.
The murder triggered two days of protests where other Palestinians were killed during clashes with Israeli forces.
Israel said the family ignored orders from troops to stop and that the soldiers only shot vehicle tires.
The vehicle was full of bullets, and the family said it was not given a warning.
Two other Palestinians were shot and killed in the past few weeks near the West West West Beita, where the protesters threw stones had repeatedly clashed with Israeli forces through the nearest settlement post founded in May.
Israeli troops also shot and killed a 17-year-old Palestinian during a clash in the West Bank Village Nebi Saleh, who had seen a wave of protests for years against the closest settlement.
Israel caught the West Bank in the 1967 war and had determined dozens of settlements where nearly 500,000 settlers lived.
Palestinians want the West Bank to form the main part of their future countries and view settlements as the main obstacles to resolve conflicts.
