JERUSALEM: Israel’s new foreign minister will visit the United Arab Emirates following week to the first-ever trip by a leading Israeli diplomat into the Gulf nation.
Foreign Minister Yair Lapid’s trip comes after both countries normalized relations this past year in an arrangement brokered by the Trump government.
The new authorities in Israel and the USA have stated that they expect to achieve similar accords with other Arab nations.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry said Monday the Lapid will see the UAE June 29-30, also will inaugurate a Israeli Embassy in Abu Dhabi and a consulate in Dubai.
