JERUSALEM: The Israeli army on Wednesday shot and killed a woman who it stated attempted to ram her car into a band of soldiers protecting a West Bank building website.
In an announcement, the military said soldiers opened fire in the girl from Hizmeh, just north of Jerusalem, afterwards she left the vehicle and pulled a knife out.
The announcement didn’t say how near the girl was on the soldiers, and the military didn’t discharge any pictures or video of this episode.
In the past few decades, Israel has witnessed a string of shootings, stabbings, and car-ramming strikes against Israeli settlers and soldiers from the West Bank.
Many are completed by Palestinians without any clear connections to organized groups.
Palestinians and Israeli human rights groups state that the soldiers frequently use excess force and might prevent the assailants without killing them.
Sometimes, they state that innocent individuals are recognized as attackers and taken.
The official Palestinian news agency Wafa affirmed the lady’s departure, identifying her just because a 29-year-old resident of Abu Dis, a West Bank city on the southern outskirts of Jerusalem.
It gave no additional information.
