Kochi: The CBI has told the Kerala High Court that it might have to investigate whether there were international conspiracies involved in the case of ISRO SPY in 1994.
Submission by the CBI in response to anticipatory assurance applicants from Vijayan and Thampi S Durt Dutt, former Kerala Police officers registered in a spy case.
The CBI is now investigating the alleged frame-up of Nambi Narouanan scientists as directed by the Supreme Court.
Along with declaring Nambi Narouanan hastily arrested without substantial ingredients, the CBI statement told the court said the violations accused the former police officer also had a big impact on the development of Cryogenic technology, which was delayed because of the false implications of Nambi Nariahanan.
Opposing a bail application, CBI further said, “Because this is related to national interests and crimes against scientists, the wider community has an interest in this case.
Opportunities for international conspiracy, if any, may also be part of the investigation when investigations advance further.” Court Also told that the former police officer would not work with the ongoing investigation if awarded anticipatory guarantee.
Officers are experts in investigative techniques and provide pre-capture guarantees to them will cause serious prejudice for investigations.
The CBI then argues that there is a possibility of a former police officer who influences potential witnesses if given anticipatory guarantees now.
Being a case that comes from more than a quarter of a century, the investigation body is faced with uphill tasks to explore the truth, the CBI said while praying not to provide anticipatory guarantees to police officials to former police officials.
