Islamabad: Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has said it is important to incent the Taliban so that the new Afghan ruler fulfills the promises they make after they seize power in Kabul last month.
Taliban have not received international recognition.
Heavy armed groups have promised an inclusive government, a more moderate form of Islamic rules than their previous regime from 1996 to 2001, including respecting women’s rights.
However, their movements recently showed that they would return to their repressive policies, especially for women.
According to an official statement, Khan in an article published in the Washington Post newspaper on Monday said the world wanted an inclusive Afghan government, respecting the rights, and commitment that the land of Afghanistan would never be used for terrorism.
“Taliban leaders will have a greater reason and the ability to hold on to their promises if they believe in consistent humanitarian and development assistance, they need to run the government effectively,” he said.
Khan said giving incentives will also provide additional leverage outside the outside world to continue persuading the Taliban to respect their commitment.
“If we do this correctly, we can achieve what the Doha peace process aims throughout: A Afghanistan that is no longer a threat to the world, where Afghans can finally dream of peace after four decades of conflict,” he said.
The Prime Minister said he left Afghanistan as tried earlier it would lead to destruction.
“Chaos, mass migration, and the threat of international terror that is revived will be natural.
Avoid this must be our global imperative,” he said.
He said Pakistan should not be blamed for the results of the war in Afghanistan and for US losses and emphasized looking at the future to avoid other conflicts.
Khan remembered that since 2001, he repeatedly warned that “Afghan war cannot be cured” and shows that considering their history, Afghanistan will never accept a prolonged foreign military presence.
He showed that after the Soviet defeat, the US left Afghanistan and oversaw Pakistan, leaving more than five million Afghan refugees in Pakistan and the bloody civil war in Afghanistan.
He said former Pakistani leader Pervez Musharraf offered logistics and airbase after 9/11, allowing the footsteps of the CIA in Pakistan and even closing his eyes against American drone attacks in Pakistan.
The Taliban was overthrown from power in 2001 by a US-led coalition after an 9/11 attack to hide al-Qaida.
The United States attracted all of his troops from Afghanistan last month in a chaotic airlift who ended the “war forever” in America in a land confined country.
Khan said for Afghans, the US was “invaders” their country like Soviet.
He said the Taliban stated the war against Pakistan after his support for the US war against terror.
“Between 2006 and 2015, nearly 50 militant groups said jihad in the state of Pakistan, carried out more than 16,000 terrorist attacks on us.” In Afghanistan, Khan said, the lack of legitimacy for the war-dissolved outside people was exacerbated by the corrupt and inadequate Afghan government, seen as a puppet regime without credibility, especially by Rural Afghanistan.
The prime minister stressed that a more realistic approach would occur.

Khan urged the world to engage with the new Afghan government for peace and stability.
