Abu Dhabi (UAE): The former England captain Michael Vaughan on Sunday stated that it would be ‘reasonable’ to move the match against Pakistan to the UAE rather than canceling the tour.
Vaughan’s statement came after Blackcaps left the Pakistani tour after the New Zealand government security warnings on Friday.
New Zealand is scheduled to play their first match in Pakistan soil since 2003.
This side is to play the host on Friday in three ODIS in Rawalpindi, before moving to Lahore for the five matches of the T20 series.
“It seems reasonable for me to try and move the Pakistani English game to the UAE rather than canceling the tour if it is considered unsafe to travel ..
!! Hopefully the game for men & women can take place rather than full cancellation,” Tweeted Michael Vaughan.
Previously on that day, the New Zealand men’s cricket team arrived in Dubai after leaving Islamabad on rented flight.
Contingent of 34 players and support staff now settled in their Dubai hotel and underwent their 24-hour Mandiri Terrace period.
From this group, 24 will return to New Zealand during next week or more, because flights and MIQ rooms in New Zealand are available.
Miq settings initially booked for this team member at the end of the Pakistani tour will now be canceled.
The Touring Party balance will remain in the UAE and join the World Cup T20 Cup Hat, ahead of the tournament starting on October 17.
