Vadodara system: ‘work from home’ adopted by IT companies have brought these women from the long break they take to care for their families.
They have revived their skills to match steps with a fast-paced technology sector.
A group of women based in various states throughout the country, between 34 and 45 years old, now took the job after a few years of gap including some who had returned after almost a decade.
Kiran Issrani (45), who belongs to Vadodara and has started his career in the city, must turn to Mumbai with her husband nine years ago.
He had a 1.5-year-old son at that time and could not start working in Mumbai again.
“We don’t have relatives in Mumbai and one of us have to take care of our son.
I decided to do it and never returned to work until I found out the program that promised a career career career like me,” he said.
This initiative was taken by a leading IT company that had the presence in the US and India.
The Program Manager Diti Nagarsheth said that leaving work because the family was the main reason why the women’s ratio in a higher position in IT companies was reduced.
“This sector is also fast and rest can cause a feeling of outdated,” said Nagarsheth Toi.
This initiative chose 37 women and offered them extensive training.
“My husband motivated me to start working again.
I have passed Masters in Computer Application (MCA) in 2009, but never worked when my placement coincided with my marriage.
I can’t join the training and therefore have to let go of a good opportunity,” Priyanka said Ajmera (34) from Bikaner.
But now Ajmera is set to start her first job in a few days.
“Working from home really benefits people like us.
It gives us the opportunity to start our career again who might not be possible if we should go to the office,” he said.
“After brushing my skills and get insight into various aspects of life regardless of technical training.
Knowing that I am not equivalent to others in the field making me feel motivated and energetic,” said Yogita Deshmukh (39) from Vadodara who was the mother of a child aged 13 year.
He had to quit his job four years ago after suffering a serious leg injury.
Nagarsheth further said that of the 37 trained women, 27 were absorbed in his own company.
The other three joined elsewhere, while seven were waiting for placement.
“Seven needs some more training and we will fill the gap to make sure they get a job,” he added.
