Italy calls on African duty groups to overcome the threat of Islamic State

Rome: Worried by the spread of the Islamic State throughout Africa, Italian Foreign Minister Luigi in Maio said on Monday, he wanted to establish an international task force to fight threats.
US Secretary Antony Blinken, spoke after a meeting in Italy aimed at renewing efforts to combat Islamic militants, said he supported Italian initiative.

He said African countries that were initially not part of the anti-Islamic coalition, including Burkina Faso, Ghana and Mozambique, were invited to the Monday meeting – a two-year alliance’s Tatua meeting.
The coalition said in a statement that it also welcomed new members to the Central African, Congo, Mauritania and Yemeni groups – to join 78 countries and five organizations that have become theirs.
In Maio did not provide further details about what the proposed African assignment will do.
However, the possibility of building work done by French forces in the Sahel region since 2013.
President Emmanuel Macron said this month the French operation will end with troops now operating as part of a wider international effort in the region.

The United States continues to urge the country of origin, including coalition partners, to repatriate, rehabilitate, and if applicable, demanding their citizenship at the meeting.
