Italy’s court stopped the trial of the Egyptian for the murder of students

ROME: The trial of four Egyptian security officers in Rome for the brutal murder of Italy Giulio Regeni Five-year students who were thrown by the judge on Thursday, “bitterly” disappointed his family who vowed not to give up on this case.
The judges decided that all four could not be tried in absentia because prosecutors could not officially tell them about the judicial process of them, a defense lawyer appointed by the court told AFP.
The officers stood accused of kidnapping, conspiracies to kill and endanger the sad body in this case, which triggered anger in Italy and had diplomatic relations with Egypt.
“We noted with the bitterness of the court’s decision, who valued Egyptian arrogance,” Regeni’s family lawyer, Alessandra Ballerini, told reporters outside the court.
“This is a setback, but we will not give up,” he said.
Ageni’s parents and sisters were present at the hearing in the bunker room from Ribbbia prison, often stage for the mafia trial.
The 28-year-old player conducted a study for a doctorate at Cambridge University when he was kidnapped in Cairo in January 2016.
His body, bear the signs of extensive torture, finally found dumped on the outskirts of Cairo, naked from the waist.
The Italian government joined the trial with a civil suit for damage, in symbolic performances for support.
But before the trial can begin, the court has the first to put aside whether the four suspects, members of the National Security Agency (NSA) of Egypt (NSA), realized the trial of them.
Egypt has repeatedly refused to give their contact details.
In the preliminary hearing in May, a judge decided that media coverage means news about the trial will reach them.
But the court canceled the decision on Thursday, effectively sending prosecution back to one.
The fourth was called the court document as General Tariq Sabir, Colonel Athar Kamel and Helmi Uhsam and Magdi Ibrahim Major Abdelal Sharif, who were accused of committing murder.
Researchers believe Regeni was kidnapped and killed after being misinterpreted for foreign spies.
Prosecutor Sergio Colaiocco told the court that the witness testimony and the “significant evidence elements” involved security officers in the murder.
The fourth not only knew about the trial but had “systematically and continued to act to slow down and block investigations,” he said.
But the lawyer Tranquillino Sarno, was appointed by the court to defend the Kamel Colonel, said the case must be thrown away.
“The defendants did not know anything.
Not what they accused.
Not us here today”.
Corpse Regeni was found nine days after she disappeared.
His mother then said it was very mutilated so he only recognized his son with a “tip of his nose”.
The five teeth have been damaged, 15 bones have been broken and the letter has written into the meat, Ballerini’s lawyer said.
As part of his work for Doctor, Regeni has examined Egyptian trade unions, very sensitive political problems.
His murder triggered fresh criticism for the Note of Egyptian human rights under the President of Abdel Fattah al-Sis.
“Decisions leave bitter taste, but must be respected, and show what a fair trace – something that can never happen in Egypt at this time,” Claudio Francavilla from Human Rights Watch told AFP.
He said the hearing was at least “open in detail the lack of embarrassing and persistent cooperation by Egyptian authorities, damaged by the transfer, lie, delay”.
Francavilla also asked the international community to “drastically changed direction to overcome the Egyptian human rights crisis” with “targeted sanctions, weapons embargo and monitoring of human rights”.
